OUR MEDIA POLICY
At East Bay Calvary Church ("East Bay"), we view photos, videos and other media as a privilege that can help our faith community grow and flourish. Photos and videos tell our story, provide potential visitors with an idea of what to expect, highlight the work of our amazing volunteers and staff, and allow us to communicate our church's mission both in print and online for those who may not be physically in the building.
Accordingly, photography, videography, live streaming and other recording may be in progress at East Bay’s church services, ministry activities, classes, programs and other church events. East Bay reserves the right to use the media recorded at these events in materials produced by or for the church, including but limited to our bulletins, posters, brochures, newsletters and other printed and electronic materials, digital media (e.g., East Bay’s website, Facebook and other social media sites).
By participating in East Bay’s church services, ministry activities, classes, programs and other events:
1. You consent to be photographed, videotaped or otherwise recorded; 2. You grant your permission for East Bay to use recordings containing your image, likeness, voice or statements, without compensation, credit or other consideration to you, for East Bay’s promotional, publicity and other purposes, throughout the world and in perpetuity; 3. And you agree to release, hold harmless and indemnify East Bay from any and all liabilities and claims involving the use of your image, likeness, voice or statements.
While we reserve the right to photograph and record church events, we want to protect your privacy and strive to ensure that photography and videography are used in safe and positive ways by adhering to the following guidelines:
Any adult may fill out a Media Opt-Out form (below) for themselves or those in their care if they wish for their or their child's likeness not to be displayed in East Bay publications
We will not knowingly and intentionally post any photo, video, or other recordings that would be embarrassing, objectionable, or hurtful
We will not identify children or youth by name or other identifying information; if a name tag is visible in a photo, it will be removed using photo editing software
We will gladly remove any photo from our online sites upon request. However, please understand that images cannot be removed from livestreams or videos; requests regarding these will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Please understand that East Bay has no control over any recordings that are used and the posting of images or other media by non-church staff (e.g., by community members, news outlets) and has no ability to remove such media from publications, including internet or social media sites, that are not run by East Bay.
